Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department celebrated the third birthday of K9 Jinx, a black Labrador Retriever currently training to become an explosive detection K9.
CPD shared that Jinx is continuing his training and, once certified, will serve as a single-purpose explosive detection dog for the department.
After completing certification, Jinx’s duties will include detecting explosive odors, conducting venue sweeps, assisting with evidence recovery, and supporting officers during public safety operations.
The department said Jinx’s future responsibilities will include a variety of assignments alongside his handler as part of his role with CPD.
CPD wished Jinx a happy 3rd birthday and highlighted the important work ahead for the newest member of the department’s K9 team.
