Chattanooga police officers recognized for DUI enforcement at MADD ceremony
Chattanooga, TN – Three Chattanooga Police Department officers were recently honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for their efforts in DUI enforcement, including recording the most DUI arrests and convictions in Tennessee.
The CPD Traffic and DUI Unit attended the MADD Night of Remembrance and Law Enforcement Recognition event in Murfreesboro, where 110 officers, deputies, and troopers from across the state were recognized for their work.
Master Patrol Officer Jennifer Lockhart was recognized for making 107 DUI arrests, the highest in Tennessee for 2024, along with the most DUI convictions. Master Patrol Officer Ryan Lynn made 79 DUI arrests, and Officer Job Basilis made 26.
Sergeant Jeff Buckner, supervisor of the unit, praised their dedication, noting that the officers work weekends and holidays enforcing DUI and traffic laws and participate in city events to educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.
Each officer received a pin symbolizing the intoxicated drivers removed from the roads, presented by individuals who lost loved ones to DUI crashes. MADD also honored senators, prosecutors, and others involved in drunk driving enforcement and remembered officers killed in the line of duty.
