Chattanooga, TN – The City of Chattanooga provided an update on garbage and recycling collection schedules for the Christmas holiday week.
Officials said garbage and recycling scheduled for Wednesday, December 24, 2025, will be collected as normal. Collection scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025, will instead occur on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
City recycle centers and refuse collection centers will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will reopen Friday, December 26. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility and the Wood Recycling Center will follow the same closure schedule.
The City Landfill, located off Birchwood Pike in Harrison, will also be closed on December 24 and 25 and will reopen on December 26. Residents with questions are encouraged to call 311 for additional information.
