Tennessee – A man was killed Friday following an officer-involved shooting in the 3200 block of Kellys Ferry Road, according to the Chatanooga Police Department.

Police said officers responded around 10:30 a.m. on May 8, 2026, to a reported domestic assault involving two parties.

After speaking with one of the individuals involved, officers later located the second person in a parking lot on Kellys Ferry Road.

According to officials, shots were fired at approximately 11:40 a.m., leaving one man dead at the scene.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Per department policy, the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation, and authorities noted that details released so far are preliminary and subject to change.
