Tennessee – Motorists traveling through Knox County were advised of overnight closures on I-40 for bridge repairs.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Sept. 1, the two right lanes of I-40 East at West Hills, Exit 380, were scheduled to close while crews worked on the bridge.

At 10 p.m., the ramp from I-40 West to I-640 East at Exit 385 was also scheduled to close for bridge repairs.

Both closures were expected to remain in place until 6 a.m. Sept. 2.

Drivers were encouraged to check traffic conditions before traveling and use available motorist information tools to plan their routes.

Authorities also reminded motorists not to text, tweet or talk on a cellphone while driving.
