Nashville, TN – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
It happened on Bell Road.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that the 36-year-old driver was traveling at a high rate of speed.
He then hit a pickup truck after driving into oncoming traffic.
The 36-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as Derrick Gilcrease.
The other driver suffered minor injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
