Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, on Sunday, seven Tennessee Army National Guardsmen were commissioned as U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenants during a special ceremony at Smyrna’s Volunteer Training Site.

The newly commissioned officers graduated from the Tennessee National Guard’s 18-month-long Officer Candidate School at the 117th Regional Training Institute.

These officers will now serve as platoon leaders and junior staff officers within the Tennessee Army National Guard.

The newly commissioned officers include Logan Cedotal of Knoxville, Dominique Diller of Nashville, Steven Downs of Chattanooga, Charles Mitchum of McKenzie, Josh Porter of Nashville, Kyle Waters of Chattanooga, and Booth White of Jackson.

Maj. Drew Caplin, commander of the Officer Candidate School, administered the Oath of Office during the ceremony and spoke about the responsibilities each officer will undertake in their new roles.
