Chattanooga mayor Tim Kelly invites residents to attend open office hours on May 5 to share concerns and help shape city policy
Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly is inviting residents to take part in the next Open Office Hours session, a recurring event designed to give the public a direct channel to share feedback and concerns with city leadership.
Scheduled for Monday, May 5, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., the upcoming session will be held at the East Lake Community Center, located at 3610 Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga. The event is open exclusively to Chattanooga city residents, and advance appointments are required.
Mayor Kelly launched the Open Office Hours initiative after taking office in 2021, with the goal of strengthening community engagement and ensuring that local government remains responsive to the needs of its residents.
“Our residents are the best source of insight we have,” Mayor Kelly said in a statement. “These Open Office Hours are an opportunity for us to hear directly from the people we serve. Every conversation shapes how we lead, where we invest, and how we grow as a city.”
Residents who wish to meet with the mayor or a member of his staff can request an appointment by visiting [cha.city/openoffice](http://cha.city/openoffice) or calling 423-643-7814. During the scheduling process, participants will be asked to select a preferred 20-minute time slot and provide their name, address, contact information, and a brief summary of the topic they would like to discuss.
Time slots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. A staff member will confirm appointments in advance.
The initiative reflects Mayor Kelly’s commitment to accessibility and transparency, offering a structured forum for residents to voice opinions, raise issues, and contribute to the direction of city policy and resource allocation.
