Chattanooga officers complete inaugural portion of Law Enforcement United Tough Ride XL in honor of fallen law enforcement
Chattanooga, TN – Five officers from the Chattanooga Police Department, along with twenty riders from other law enforcement agencies, have completed the first leg of the Law Enforcement United – Tough Ride XL.
The group is currently in Roanoke, Virginia, where they are taking a rest day before continuing their journey to Washington, D.C.
The multi-day ride is part of the lead-up to National Police Week and is held in honor of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
Participants are also riding in support of the families left behind, with proceeds from the event benefiting programs that assist survivors of fallen officers.
The riders will soon join a larger group of cyclists for the final three-day leg of the trip into the nation’s capital.
The event serves as both a physical challenge and a meaningful tribute, drawing participants from across the country to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
National Police Week, held annually in May, includes a variety of events and memorials, culminating in a candlelight vigil on the National Mall and a formal service at the U.S. Capitol.
Chattanooga Police officials expressed pride in their officers’ dedication to honoring their fallen colleagues and supporting the broader law enforcement community.
