Chattanooga Police Department earns state accreditation for fourth time
Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) has been granted accreditation status by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program for the fourth time, with the recognition effective through April 2028.
To receive the award, CPD demonstrated compliance with more than 160 professional standards set by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, reflecting best practices in law enforcement policies, operations, and community service.
Police Chief John Chambers thanked the department’s Accreditation Team for their dedication, noting that their work ensures CPD not only meets standards but sets them.
In addition to state accreditation, CPD also maintains national accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), which recognizes agencies meeting the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
