Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early January 2, 2025, at an abandoned multi-unit complex in the 2600 block of Glenwood Parkway.

At approximately 2:35 a.m., CPD responded to a person-shot call in the area. The caller reported having shot a man. Upon arrival, officers found a 55-year-old male victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. The officers detained the shooter, who was present at the scene.

Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS also responded, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. CPD’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit arrived to investigate and process the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect and victim were in an abandoned apartment when the suspect shot the victim multiple times. Evidence suggests that the suspect stood over the victim and fired at least one round at him.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Isaiah Berry, was charged with First Degree Murder after investigators obtained arrest warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing, and the CPD encourages anyone with information to call the Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100.

The charges against Berry are accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
