Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department showcased its elite K9 units during last week’s USPCA Region 22 K9 Trials, a competitive event featuring approximately 40 K9 teams from across the region.

The department emerged with top honors, earning accolades in multiple categories.

Officer Winkelman and his K9 partner, Diesel, earned first place in the Suspect Boxes Search, outperforming fellow competitors in the intense detection challenge.

Meanwhile, Officer Gerity and K9 Sully secured second place in the Narcotics (Vehicle) Search, further highlighting the department’s strength in specialized K9 operations.

The CPD praised the dedication and skill of both officers and their canine partners, noting that the results reflect countless hours of training and a deep commitment to public safety.

The department celebrated the wins as not just individual achievements, but as a testament to the overall excellence of its K9 program.
