Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Police Department has renewed its longstanding partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center through an inter-agency agreement signed this morning, reaffirming a joint commitment to protect child victims of crime and abuse.

The agreement, which is renewed every two years, was signed alongside other local public safety partners. It outlines continued collaboration with the CAC to ensure children in crisis receive comprehensive support services, including forensic interviews, therapy, and victim advocacy.

For years, the Chattanooga Police Department has worked with the CAC to investigate cases of child abuse while prioritizing the well-being of young victims. The partnership enables law enforcement to conduct trauma-informed interviews and coordinate with service providers to ensure children are not retraumatized during the investigation process.

“This agreement reflects our shared mission to not only bring offenders to justice but also to support victims and their families through every step of the recovery process,” said a department spokesperson.

Officials from both agencies emphasized the importance of this collaboration, noting that child abuse investigations require a careful, multi-disciplinary approach to be both effective and sensitive to the victim’s needs.

The Children’s Advocacy Center serves as a central hub for these efforts, offering a child-friendly environment where trained professionals conduct interviews and provide therapeutic services tailored to the needs of young survivors.

With the renewed agreement in place, the Chattanooga Police Department and its partners reaffirmed their dedication to protecting vulnerable children and ensuring they receive the support necessary to heal and move forward.
