Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania woman was arrested and charged with criminaI homicide, aggravated assauIt, chiId endangerment, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and conceaIing the death of a chiId in Pennsylvania. The charges stem from the death of her adopttive chiId, Renesmey, whose body was discovered partially submerged in a river.

Pennsylvania authorities said the case came to light after interviews with other children living in the home. According to court documents obtained by a local news outlet, the children reported witnessing their adoptive parent, 31-year-old K. Euttsey, kill the 9-year-old child and place her body in a plastic container the night before her body was found.

One of the children told police, “I’m never going to see my baby sister again because she’s in heaven.” Another child described hearing the victim screaming and crying outside her bedroom on Tuesday night. When she went to check, she reportedly saw the defendant and her girIfriend yelling at the victim and kicking her in the stomach.

The children also told Pennsylvania authorities that when the victim’s sibling tried to watch them, the defendant’s girlfriend punched her in the mouth. They later saw her body stuffed into a black garbage bag, which was then placed inside a plastic tote.

The defendant initially told police that the victim had wandered away and claimed the child had a burn on her back from the previous week, which may have become infected. She said that on Tuesday night, the child vomited and choked, and despite her attempts to save her, the child died. The defendant also admitted she was too afraid to call 911 because she did not want to get in trouble due to the victim’s burn and how skinny she looked.

The woman reportedly led investigators to the location where the victim’s body was discarded along the riverbank, discovered at approximately 2 a.m. Thursday. District Attorney AubeIe said it was clear the victim had been abused. She appeared malnourished and had multiple bruises and signs of cigarette burns on her body. Charging documents described the child as dying due to physical abuse and the lack of medical treatment.

In addition to criminal homicide, the defendant faces charges of aggravated assault with intent to cause injury with extreme indifference, aggravated assault of a victim under 13, and concealing the death of a child. She was arraigned on Thursday and ordered held in county prison without bond, as she was considered a threat to herself and others.

Pennsylvania authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and further charges could be filed. The defendant’s girlfriend has not been charged at this time. Officials emphasized the importance of the children’s statements in understanding the full scope of what happened to the victim and said the children are now in protective custody.
