Chattanooga, TN – This week at the South Chattanooga Community Center, members of the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) brought together education and recreation in a unique community engagement event.

Officers from CPD’s Early Hire program visited the center to speak with students from Tech Goes Home Tennessee, delivering important lessons on cyberbullying and internet safety. The session aimed to raise awareness among youth about responsible online behavior, digital threats, and the importance of protecting personal information in an increasingly connected world.

Following the discussion, the officers and students participated in a series of lively 9 Square games, exchanged high-fives, shared laughs, and even tested their strength in a few friendly arm wrestling matches.

The visit was part of CPD’s Early Hire initiative, a program that allows police applicants to begin working with the department prior to starting the Police Academy. It offers hands-on experience and fosters early connections with the community.

The Chattanooga Police Department extended its gratitude to Tech Goes Home Tennessee and Chattanooga Community Development for the opportunity to collaborate.
