Chattanooga, TN – According to the statement, the program, which was established swiftly in the aftermath of the disaster, reportedly features a $100 million fund aimed at supporting the health and wellness of Tennesseans.

Counties eligible for assistance include Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington.

Any additional counties added to the Major Disaster Declaration for FEMA Public Assistance Categories A through G will also qualify for the program.

The HEAL Program allocates $35 million specifically for addressing damage to water and wastewater systems across the eligible counties.

Many of these systems suffered extensive damage or were completely destroyed, making their restoration vital for the health and wellbeing of residents, as well as first responders and volunteers assisting in the recovery efforts.

Additionally, $65 million will be evenly distributed among eligible economically at-risk and distressed counties to facilitate the removal of hazardous debris.
