Hamilton County 911 Emergency Communications District engages with students at ‘Get Future Ready’ event
Chattanooga, TN – The Hamilton County 911 Emergency Communications District took part in the “Get Future Ready” event held at Chattanooga State Community College on Thursday and Friday, connecting with seventh-grade students from Hamilton County Schools.
Representing the District were Telecommunicator Seniors Lucia Walters and Jamarcus Williams, along with Telecommunicator Trainees Maria James and Bailey Tallant.
Over the course of the two-day event, the team interacted with hundreds of curious and engaged students, offering insight into the role of emergency communications professionals and the critical work they perform.
District officials described the event as a valuable opportunity to introduce students to public safety careers and spark interest in emergency response work. The team highlighted the importance of 911 services and shared real-world knowledge about what it takes to become a telecommunicator.
The event was part of a broader initiative to prepare local students for future educational and career opportunities, encouraging early exploration of diverse career paths in public service.
