Head-on crash on Rossville Boulevard leaves two people dead, CPD’s Traffic Unit investigates
Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Police responded to a fatal crash in the 4900 block of Rossville Boulevard on February 8 at 2:08 a.m. Officers arrived to find a collision involving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala and a 2014 Ram 1500.
The driver of the Impala, a 47-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 41-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries but later died at a local hospital.
Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS provided emergency assistance, while CPD’s Traffic Unit launched an investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that the Impala was traveling north on Rossville Boulevard when it crossed into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with the Ram 1500. Investigators are working to determine what caused the vehicle to cross the centerline.
