Nashville, TN – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred around 7:14 a.m. Saturday.
It happened on Old Hickory Boulevard.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that Mazda sedan left the road and crashed into a tree before catching on fire.
The 17-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified as Jack Klopfer.
The 17-year-old passenger suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities say speed could have been a contributing factor to this crash.
