Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has announced that the Jasper Driver Services Center, located at 4950 Main Street, Building D, will close temporarily for renovations starting Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

During the remodeling period, residents are encouraged to utilize a variety of alternative service options, including nearby Driver Services Centers, County Clerk partner locations, Self-Service Kiosks, and online services through the department’s website. The remodeling timeline and reopening date have not yet been disclosed.

For standard services such as renewals and duplicates of non-commercial driver licenses, customers can visit the following nearby Driver Services Centers:

  • Chattanooga/Bonny Oaks Driver Services and Reinstatement Center at 6502 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga

  • Chattanooga/Red Bank Driver Services Center at 4873 Dayton Boulevard, Chattanooga

  • McMinnville Driver Services Center at 594 Vervilla Road, McMinnville

  • Tullahoma Driver Services Center at 307 Industrial Boulevard, Tullahoma

County Clerk partner locations also provide limited services (renewals and duplicates of non-commercial licenses only):

  • Hamilton County Clerk – 6135 Heritage Park Drive, Chattanooga

  • Grundy County Clerk – 68 Cumberland Street, Altamont

  • Sequatchie County Clerk – 22 Cherry Street, Dunlap

Self-Service Kiosks for quick access to the same limited services are available at:

  • University of Tennessee Chattanooga – 710 E 5th Street, Chattanooga

Residents may also access a range of online services at tn.gov/safety/driver-services/online.html, including license renewals, address changes, and other driver-related needs.

Teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 have the option to complete the required knowledge test online under the supervision of a parent or guardian through the Tennessee Proctor Identification (PID) app. More information on this option is available at tn.gov/safety/driver-services/teengdl/knowledge-test-online.html.

The department encourages residents to plan ahead and use the alternative services available while the Jasper center undergoes improvements.
