Local woman sentenced to 11 years in prison for fatal drunk-driving crash

Chattanooga, TN – According to the court documents, her name is Janet Hinds and she was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
The 57-year-old woman was sentenced on Monday.
A jury convicted her in September of vehicular homicide by intoxication in the death of officer Nicholas Galinger.
Prosecutors said the 38-year-old officer was reportedly inspecting a manhole cover that had water flowing from it late one night in February 2019 when Hinds hit him with her car and fled.
