Pregnant woman locked herself in a stall for hours, where she gave birth to her baby, only to then try and push the newborn down the U-drain in an attempt to fIush the child, who was pronounced dead at the hospital; charged

During the investigation process, authorities learned that the woman allegedly attempted to fIush the newborn down the toiIet after giving birth. The investigation process began after the restaurant employee called 911 and told the dispatcher about the incident. The responding officers made contact with the woman and took her into custody. During the investigation process, authorities in Texas learned that the woman entered the establishment around noon, stayed there for the whole day and at 1 a.m., she walked into the restroom. 

The employee, who was not identified, told authorities that he checked on the woman several times and offered the woman water. According to the witness, the defendant made strange noises while inside the staII. Several hours later, the employee told the woman that she needs to leave the restroom or they will call the authorities. Shortly after, the woman exited the stall only for the witness to look inside and see the newborn, local news outlet Express News reported.

First responders discovered that the woman reportedly attempted to fIush the baby down the toiIet, but was not successful. Authorities released a statement, saying that first responders were forced to “physically grab the baby to pull it out of the toilet’s U-trap drain”. The newborn was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. According to the police officials, the woman was 30 week pregnant when she gave birth in the restroom. The baby sustained head injuries consistent with being forced and flushed down the toilet drain, the affidavit says.
