Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) advised motorists to expect possible daytime and nighttime lane closures at various locations throughout Region 4 for maintenance and new installations as needed across 21 counties.

District 47 Updates:

Benton County

  • I-40 at Exit 126: Ongoing grading, drainage, and paving work at the US-641 (SR-69) interchange will cause temporary lane closures throughout the project area.

Carroll County

  • SR-1 (US 70): Resurfacing between the Rutherford Fork Obion River and SR-22, including all directions of the Huntingdon Square, will require daily and nightly lane closures for milling and paving.

  • SR-76 (US-79): Lane closures remain in place as grading, drainage, noise wall installation, signal work, and paving continue from near SR-77 to near Cutlip Lane.

  • Meadowbrook Lane: Closed as of September 16, 2024.

  • Big Buck Road: Reopened to traffic on June 17, 2025.

  • June 18, 2025: Traffic was shifted to a new alignment from near Cutlip Lane to the Connector Road leading into Trezevant. Speed limit is reduced to 35 mph, and an all-way stop has been established at the junction with Old US-79 (SR-76), weather permitting.

  • July 2, 2025: Dorsey Road is expected to close for utility realignment and road construction. A signed detour will be in place, weather permitting.

  • July 23, 2025: Clay Farm Road is projected to close for similar work, with detours marked along Newsome Road, weather permitting.

Dyer County

  • SR-211: Beginning August 9, 2024, outside lane closures will be in place for bridge inspection and evaluation over the North Fork Forked Deer River, just south of Dyersburg.

  • SR-78: Resurfacing from near US-51 (SR-3) to SR-103 will require daily and nightly lane closures for milling and paving.

Gibson County

  • SR-54: On August 5–6, a crossdrain replacement at Mile Marker 11.8 will cause a road closure. Advance notice is provided through message boards, and a detour route will be available.

Henry County

  • SR-218: Resurfacing from SR-77 to SR-76 will result in temporary lane closures during the course of the project.

Obion County

  • US-51 (SR-3): Construction of turn lanes at Greenfield Drive/N. Morgan Street to support the Williams Sausage HQ will require inside lane closures on US-51 to through traffic. The crossover at Greenfield Drive and N. Morgan Street will also be closed. The speed limit is reduced from 50 mph to 40 mph in this section.

  • US-51 (SR-3) and US-45 (SR-5): Soil boring work in South Fulton will cause temporary lane closures at the interchange and surrounding areas.

TDOT advises drivers to remain alert and use caution in all active work zones. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
