Tennessee Highway Patrol enters national cruiser photo contest with iconic Sunsphere backdrop
Tennessee – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is once again vying for the title of “America’s Best-Looking Cruiser” in the American Association of State Troopers (AAST) 12th Annual Cruiser Calendar Contest. For this year’s entry, THP showcased two of its newest vehicles — a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and a 2024 Ford Mustang — in front of the Sunsphere in Knoxville, a one-of-a-kind structure originally built for the 1982 World’s Fair.
Voting for the contest began on Monday, June 30, at 10 a.m. EDT and will remain open through Friday, July 11, 2025, at noon EDT. Supporters can cast their votes by visiting bit.ly/VoteTHP25 and scrolling down to select Tennessee from the list of entries.
Each year, state police and highway patrol agencies across the country submit their best photos in hopes of being featured in the AAST’s annual calendar. The 13 states receiving the most votes will be included in the 2026 edition, with the top vote-getter earning the coveted front cover spot.
Proceeds from calendar sales benefit the AAST Foundation, which provides college scholarships to dependents of state troopers across the United States. The 2026 “Trooper Cruisers” wall calendar will be available later this year at statetroopers.org.
THP encourages fans and community members to help showcase Tennessee pride by voting and sharing the contest with friends and family.
