The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire after neighbors noticed smoke emanating from the building

Chattanooga, TN – According to the officials, units E12, E16, E1, Squad 1, Ladder 1, and Battalion Chiefs 1 and 3 responded to the scene on Tremont Street, where they found heavy smoke showing from the structure.
Upon arrival, firefighters quickly initiated an interior attack and conducted a thorough search of the residence to ensure all occupants had safely evacuated.
The fire displaced the residents, who are now receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
One firefighter sustained minor burns during the operation and was treated and released from a local hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
