The Tennessee Department of Health will begin administering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots to eligible populations next week

Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, beginning Oct. 25, people who received a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine who fall into the following groups are eligible for a booster shot six months or more after their second dose.
- 65 years and older
- Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
- Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
- Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings
The health officials say that Tennesseans who are 18 and older and received a single-dose J&J vaccine are recommended to receive a booster dose two or more months after the initial vaccination.
People may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose.
Local health departments across the state will be administering COVID-19 booster doses.
