Two-vehicle crash on South Hickory Street leaves 49-year-old man dead, CPD investigating

Chattanooga, TN – A 49-year-old man died after a head-on collision in the 2900 block of South Hickory Street on February 10.
Chattanooga police responded at 6:55 p.m. and found a crash involving a 2005 Jeep Liberty and a 2001 Honda Accord. The Accord’s driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
The Jeep’s driver, a 35-year-old man, and a 14-year-old passenger reported no injuries.
Investigators determined the Jeep was traveling north when it veered into the southbound lane, colliding with the Accord. The Accord’s driver was unrestrained.
The cause of the Jeep crossing the centerline remains under investigation.
