Kentucky – A Kentucky woman was arrested and charged with first-degree assauIt in connection to a incident that occurred earlier this year. According to the Kentucky authorities, the 23-year-old defendant, C. BagweII, allegedly instructed her accomplice, 41-year-old Garry, a convicted feIon, to shoot a man with whom she had previously argued over her animaI escaping its Ieash. The 41-year-old man was arrested on May 6 and faces charges of first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

In Jan, Kentucky authorities responded to a shooting call and upon arrival, they found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and butocks. The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover. 

Investigators determined that the altercation began earlier that day when the woman and the victim had a verbaI argument over her animaI escaping its Ieash. The 23-year-old woman reportedly went home and informed her 41-year-old accomplice about the incident. The pair then returned to the parking lot, where he allegedly confronted the victim and shot him. The 23-year-old woman is accused of encouraging her accomplice to shoot the victim.

The Police Department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit conducted an extensive investigation, reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses. Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrests of both defendants. The 23-year-old woman was arrested on May 12. Her 41-year-old accomplice was arrested on May 6 and remains in custody.

The 23-year-old woman was initially charged with second-degree assault, but the charges were upgraded to first-degree assault following further investigation. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 10, 2025. Her co-defendant faces charges of first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Both individuals are awaiting trial.
