Man, whose ‘so-called friends got him on some fake drugs,’ laid down on the sofa right after he killed his relative and her child, one week after his mom previously warned police about her son threatening to kill the whole family

Houston, TX – A 29-year-old Texas man is behind bars after the Friday morning fatal incident which left woman and her child dead. The defendant, later identified as Kendrik, was taken into custody by responding officers and later charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Both victims, 28-year-old SharIett, and her 2-year-old child, who was not identified, were pronounced dead at the scene after suffering life-threatening injuries caused by the defendant. The victim’s family blame the authorities for the deaths after warning police about the defendant’s violent actions one week before the fatal incident.

During the investigation process, authorities in Texas discovered that the defendant stabbed his 28-year-old sibling and her child at their apartment, one week after the defendant’s family filed domestic violence claims against the man. The investigation process began after officers were called by a family member, who reportedly told them that the 28-year-old victim and her child were held as a hostage. 

The responding officers went to the apartment, only to find both victims suffering from life-threatening injuries. Both victims were stabbed multiple times and were pronounced dead at the scene. The defendant was reportedly sleeping on the sofa, with bIood on his clothes. The responding officers then woke him, only for the man to try to escape. He was taken into custody and later charged. During an interview with local news outlets, the defendant’s mom, Joana, reportedly said that she warned the authorities about the 29-year-old man one week before the fatal incident. ‘If they would have did what they were supposed to do, my family would be still up there, my grandbaby,’ the woman reportedly said.

The woman reportedly called the cops on her son after he threatened to kill the whole family. The grieving woman now blames police inaction for the deaths. The woman also added that her son’s actions were caused by his drug use after his friends reportedly provided him ‘fake weed’. According to the parent, her son was recently released from prison and he already beat her. ‘His so-called friends got him on some fake weed He came home on a rampage,” the defendant’s mother told local news outlet KPRC. The 29-year-old defendant is being held on $200,000.
