Chattanooga, TN – Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies engaged in a vehicle pursuit with juveniles following a series of vehicle break-ins on December 21, 2024, as part of the ongoing Operation Sleigh Overwatch.
The operation, designed to increase overnight patrols in key areas, involved HCSO deputies assisting the Chattanooga Police Department near the Populus Apartments on Gunbarrel Road. Deputies quickly responded to the scene, locating four suspects matching the descriptions on Pinewood Road.
As deputies approached, the suspects fled on foot before entering a stolen Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that evening in Chattanooga. Deputies initiated a pursuit, successfully ending it with a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver.
After the pursuit, two suspects were apprehended by deputies following a brief foot chase. The other two suspects were taken into custody by Chattanooga Police Officers.
A stolen 9mm firearm, linked to a car burglary on December 17, 2024, and a window glass breaker were recovered from the driver. Authorities continue their investigation into the incident as part of their broader efforts to combat vehicle-related crimes during the holiday season.
