CPD investigates hate propaganda in Highland Park, urges community to report similar incidents
Chattanooga, TN – On January 27, 2025, at 8:55 p.m., Chattanooga police responded to reports of Ku Klux Klan (KKK) flyers being distributed in the Highland Park area. Officers spoke with several community members who found the flyers in the roadway, with one witness reporting that a group in a truck had thrown them.
The flyers contained messages urging immigrants to leave and promoting KKK membership, including an invitation to an event in Kentucky. Authorities believe they were intended to intimidate and spread hate.
The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating the incident and is seeking video evidence of the distribution. Community members are encouraged to report similar incidents and submit videos through the department’s evidence portal.
Police Chief John Chambers condemned the act, stating that such behavior has no place in Chattanooga. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to identifying those responsible and ensuring community safety.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
