Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Police Department officers recently participated in Read Across America Week, engaging with local students to promote the joys of reading.

Officers visited Providence Baptist and Hixson Elementary School, where they shared stories and interacted with children, emphasizing the importance of literacy.

Throughout the week, CPD officers read books to students, using storytelling to inspire a love for reading while also strengthening their connection with the community.

The initiative aimed to show children that reading can be both fun and beneficial for everyone.

As Read Across America Week came to a close, CPD expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate.

Officers noted that while the event may have ended, their commitment to encouraging literacy remains ongoing.
