Three casualties reported after severe weather and flooding in Hamilton County
Chattanooga, TN – Three people were killed in Hamilton County following severe weather and flash flooding Tuesday night, according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management.
Officials said saturated ground from recent storms caused a large tree to fall on a car in the 1100 block of South Moore Road in East Ridge early Wednesday morning. Two adults and a child inside the vehicle were killed.
Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp met with OEM officials and East Ridge first responders Wednesday morning to assess the damage and plan next steps, with more rain in the forecast.
