Chattanooga Fire Department reviews new turnout gear during visit to Fire-Dex
Chattanooga, TN – Members of the Chattanooga Fire Department’s command staff and Personal Protective Equipment committee visited Fire-Dex’s headquarters in Ohio this week to observe how the company manufactures turnout gear.
The visit gave the department an opportunity to see the production process firsthand and evaluate new products being developed by the manufacturer.
During the trip, the team learned about Fire-Dex’s latest gear improvements and safety features. Several firefighters will be wear testing the new equipment in the coming weeks as part of the department’s review process.
The results of those tests will help determine whether the CFD moves forward with a department-wide purchase.
According to the department, ensuring that firefighters have high-quality equipment that supports their health and safety remains a top priority.
The evaluation of new turnout gear is one part of ongoing efforts to keep personnel protected on the job.
