Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to an apartment fire Friday afternoon at the Views at Signal Mountain complex off Morrison Springs Road.

According to officials, Red Shift companies were dispatched around 1:07 p.m. to the 700 block of Golden Place. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed all occupants had safely evacuated the building before crews entered the structure.

Firefighters located smoke coming from the building and discovered flames extending from electrical outlets inside a kitchen area.

Crews extinguished the fire within the walls and conducted extensive checks for additional fire spread and remaining hot spots.

During the incident, firefighters rescued a cat from one of the apartments. Hamilton County EMS personnel provided oxygen to the pet at the scene.

Officials said fire crews remained on location for more than two hours as overhaul operations continued. No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities said four apartment units were displaced due to fire, smoke, and water damage.
