Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire Department crews responded to a single-story structure fire on Wheeler Avenue early Monday morning, quickly containing the flames and preventing the fire from spreading throughout the home.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:45 p.m. to the 900 block of Wheeler Avenue for a reported structure fire, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Crews arrived and worked to extinguish the flames, successfully containing the fire to the room where it started. No injuries were reported among the residents or Chattanooga Fire Department personnel.
However, officials said two dogs were killed in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Chattanooga Fire Department investigators.
Several CFD companies responded to the incident, including Engine 4, Ladder 5, Engine 5, Squad 1, Engine 10, Engine 15, Battalion 3, and CFD Investigations.
