Local PE coach gets kids active with Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon training program
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn – In the spring, Channel 3 introduced you to local PE teacher Aaron Wood. His exercise videos for kids went viral at the height of the pandemic. Now, Wood is teaming up with the Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon and Operation Get Active for a fun-run training program.
At the beginning of the pandemic, now-Hixson Middle’s Coach Wood started posting YouTube videos to get his students, stuck at home and on the couch, active.
They went so viral, the Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon and Operation Get Active called on him to get kids across the city moving.
“The mix of activities they can do at home in the booklet and then tuning in weekly to get those exercise videos from Coach Wood is going to provide a lot of fun,” Marissa Bell with the Chattanooga Tourism Company said.
