Chattanooga Fire Department responded on Hixson Pike after vehicle crashed into building
Chattanooga, TN – At 2:11 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, Ladder 19 Green Shift from the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that had crashed into a building in the 5000 block of Hixson Pike.
Upon arrival, Ladder 19 assessed the situation and requested Squad 19 for further evaluation.
The driver, an elderly man, had already exited the vehicle by the time firefighters arrived. Hamilton County EMS treated and transported the driver for medical care.
Squad 19 and Ladder 19 then called for a wrecker service to safely remove the vehicle from the building.
Battalion 3 also responded to the scene. Squad 19 assisted the wrecker driver in removing the vehicle without causing additional damage to the structure.
Once the vehicle was removed, Squad 19 and Ladder 19 returned to service. The incident was documented with photos from Battalion Chief 3 Dean.
