Chattanooga Fire Department responds to structure fire on Druid Lane, no injuries reported
Chattanooga, TN – On January 2, 2025, at 7:24 AM, the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 300 block of Druid Lane, following multiple 911 reports from neighbors. The resident of the home credited her dog’s barking for waking her up and alerting her to the fire. She was able to quickly get her child, and as they rushed to the front door, neighbors knocked to assist them in evacuating.
Upon arrival, Engine 12 found the three-story residence fully involved, with flames engulfing the front, sides, and back of the house. Firefighters made a direct interior attack while other units worked to combat the fire from all sides. Due to the narrow streets, tight spaces, and steep terrain of North Chattanooga, crews faced additional challenges.
The incident commander requested additional support, calling for another company to respond due to the fire’s scope. Despite the obstacles, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control by 8:22 AM. Crews continued to battle the fire for several hours, focusing on hot spots until the scene was fully cleared.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for observation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting in the response were Engine 12, Squad 1, Engine 1, Ladder 1, Engine 17, Engine 10, Battalion 1, Battalion 3, CPD, EMS, EPB, CFD Investigations, and CFD Supply. Tri-State Mutual Aid partners provided coverage for CFD fire stations during the incident.
The CFD also expressed gratitude to the neighbors who called 911 and offered help to the impacted family.
