Tennessee – Motorists traveling on Interstate 75 through Hamilton, Bradley, and McMinn counties should prepare for temporary traffic disruptions due to scheduled road construction activities. On Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will conduct rolling roadblocks on I-75 in both directions, covering the stretch between mile marker 15 and mile marker 34.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and anticipate delays during this window. The planned work is weather-dependent, and any delays caused by inclement weather or unforeseen issues will result in rescheduling for a future date. Uniformed police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control and ensure law enforcement.

TDOT encourages travelers to utilize available motorist information tools to “Know Before You Go.” Before heading out, drivers should check current travel conditions via the TDOT SmartWay Map or by dialing 511 for statewide travel updates. Officials also remind drivers to avoid distractions by never texting, tweeting, or talking on a cell phone while driving.

Additionally, the Move Over Law, enacted in Tennessee in 2006, requires drivers to move over or slow down when approaching stationary emergency vehicles. Violating this law can result in penalties including up to 30 days in jail and fines up to $500. Authorities urge all drivers to follow this safety rule to protect workers and first responders during the construction.
