Firefighters battle large outside fire in the 5000 block of SE Maricamp Road

Marion County, TN – According to the Marion County Fire Rescue, this incident occurred right after 5 p.m. Monday evening.
It happened in the 5000 block of SE Maricamp Road.
Marion County Fire Rescue crews responded to a report of a large outside fire.
The responding crews arrived on scene at 5:29 p.m. and immediately called for additional units.
Several 20’ piles of oak trees, pine trees and mulch, covering 4.5 acres, were on fire.
18 MCFR units totaling 27 firefighters are assigned to this fire.
The cause and origin of this fire remain under investigation, officials said.
