Putnam County, TN – According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, this unfortunate accident occurred Wednesday afternoon.
It happened on Interstate 40 in Putnam County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding troopers found five victims.
A 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said a vehicle hit a cable barrier, went across the median and into oncoming traffic and hit two other vehicles head-on.
This incident remains under investigation.
