Chattanooga, TN – A Chattanooga Police Department sergeant graduated from the National Public Safety Innovation Academy, an intensive eight-week executive-level course designed for law enforcement and corrections leaders.

The program, led by nationally recognized experts, focused on current challenges and emerging trends in public safety and criminal justice, including servant leadership, cyber threats, drones, and trauma awareness.

The sergeant was among 25 graduates in the academy’s sixth cohort, which included officers from Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Illinois, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. He became the third Chattanooga Police Department leader to complete the program, following two lieutenants who graduated earlier this year and in 2024.

Police Chief John Chambers said the sergeant represents the best of the department’s leadership, commending his integrity, professionalism, and commitment to those he serves. He added that the graduation reflects the sergeant’s dedication to growth and innovation in public safety.

A 26-year veteran of the department, the sergeant currently serves in the Neighborhood Policing Bureau and is involved with the department’s physical training and fitness programs. His achievement underscores the department’s commitment to professional development and leadership advancement within its ranks.
