Tennessee – The Tennessee State Review Board will convene on Friday, May 16, 2025, to evaluate four proposed nominations for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Central Daylight Time and will be held both in person at the Tennessee Historical Commission’s office in Nashville and virtually.

The in-person meeting will take place at 2941 Lebanon Pike. Details for virtual access will be posted on the Tennessee Historical Commission’s State Review Board webpage prior to the meeting.

The four nominations under review come from various parts of the state. They include:

  • Omohundro Water Filtration Complex District (Additional Documentation), Davidson County

  • Old Stone Creamery, Maury County

  • Ralph’s Donut Shop, Putnam County

  • Earles Drug Store, Sullivan County

Should any of the properties meet the criteria set by the National Park Service, the Board will vote to forward them to the U.S. Department of the Interior for final approval.

The State Review Board is made up of 12 members with professional backgrounds in American history, architecture, archaeology, and related disciplines. Public representatives also serve on the board, ensuring a broad perspective in evaluating nominations.

The National Register of Historic Places, established under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, is the official federal list of historic properties deemed worthy of preservation. In Tennessee, the program is administered by the Tennessee Historical Commission.

Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting, either in person or online.
