Tennessee – The Tennessee Department of General Services has once again been named a Top Workplace by The Tennessean, earning the 2025 honor for the sixth consecutive year. The recognition was announced during an award ceremony held Wednesday, June 18, at the Music City Center.

The award is based exclusively on employee feedback collected through a confidential third-party survey conducted by Energage LLC, a firm specializing in employee engagement technology. The survey evaluates critical aspects of workplace culture, including how respected and supported employees feel, opportunities for growth, and overall empowerment within their roles.

Energage CEO Eric Rubino emphasized the importance of the recognition, saying, “Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees. Leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount.”

Interim Commissioner Jeff Holmes praised the department’s continued success: “This Top Workplace award represents the exceptional culture and commitment of our team. Achieving this recognition for the sixth consecutive year demonstrates the unwavering dedication of our employees who consistently go above and beyond in their service to the State of Tennessee and its citizens.”

The department’s ongoing recognition highlights a strong internal culture rooted in public service, collaboration, and employee engagement.
