The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation will offer its mobile household hazardous waste collection service in Sumner County on October 19
Chattanooga, TN – According to the statement, local residents are encouraged to bring items such as cleaning fluids, pesticides, swimming pool chemicals, mercury thermometers, lithium batteries, and more to the designated drop-off location at Moss Wright Park, 705 Caldwell Dr., Goodlettsville, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Participation is open to all Tennessee residents, and it is not necessary to live in the county to take part.
The program, which has collected over 24 million pounds of hazardous materials from more than 373,000 households since 1993, helps dispose of flammable, toxic, reactive, or corrosive items that should not be thrown away with regular garbage.
There is no cost or appointment required for household hazardous waste disposal. Contact Jeff McCormick at (615) 851-2200 for additional information.
