Chattanooga, TN – A 60-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway on Highway 58 in Chattanooga, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

The crash happened on July 25, 2026, shortly before 10 p.m. in the 5900 block of Highway 58. Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck and found the man deceased when they arrived.

Chattanooga Police said the department’s Traffic/DUI Unit responded to investigate the crash. The preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle, identified as an Acura, was traveling southbound on Highway 58 in the right lane when it struck the pedestrian.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was walking in the roadway in the same lane of travel as the vehicle at the time of the crash. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that the information released is preliminary and subject to change as detectives continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
