Electrical issue sparks house fire on Grace Avenue, residents safely evacuated
Chattanooga, TN – An apparent electrical issue caused a house fire on Chattanooga’s east side, Green Shift companies responded to a home in the 3900 block of Grace Avenue, where flames were visible at the back corner of the structure.
Residents, including a handicapped occupant, were on the front porch when firefighters arrived.
Crews assisted them down the steps to safety while other firefighters worked to contain the fire, which had spread from a shed behind the house.
Firefighters prevented the flames from causing further damage to the home.
The fire was extinguished, and a precautionary search confirmed no one was inside. No injuries were reported.
Engine 4, Engine 15, Engine 6, Engine 5, Squad 7, Battalion 2, Battalion 3, HCEMS, CPD, and EPB responded to the scene.
