Chattanooga, TN – Firefighters from the Chattanooga Fire Department and Catoosa County Fire Department worked for hours Friday to contain a house fire that spread into nearby woods at the Tennessee-Georgia state line.

At 2:30 p.m. on February 28, Chattanooga Fire Department’s Red Shift crews responded to the 600 block of Graysville Road, where they found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames. Several acres of woods behind the structure were also burning, threatening other nearby homes.

No injuries have been reported. Fire crews have the fire under control but continue working to fully extinguish remaining hot spots. The firefighting effort has been extended due to multiple roofs on the structure and a large amount of debris on the property.

The house fire occurred in Catoosa County, while the brush fire spread into Chattanooga. Chattanooga Fire Department’s new Wildland Fire Team is cutting a fire break around the affected wooded area to prevent further spread.

Units on the scene included Engine 21, Squad 13, Ladder 13, Ladder 7, Squad 7, Battalion 1, and Battalion 2, along with Chattanooga Public Works and Chattanooga Police Department. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
