Pedestrian dies after being struck on North Market Street in Chattanooga
Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga police responded early Sunday morning to a pedestrian struck at 30 North Market Street, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old man. The incident occurred at 1:54 a.m. on Sept. 28, 2025.
According to preliminary findings from the Chattanooga Police Department Traffic/DUI Unit, a 19-year-old female driver traveling south on North Market Street struck the pedestrian, who had been seen in the roadway by witnesses.
The driver was unable to stop in time, remained on scene, and cooperated with investigators.
Chattanooga Fire Department personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on scene. His next of kin have been notified.
